About Me

Hi, all :-), I'm a second-year PhD student in the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences. I am originally from Philadelphia and moved to Seattle five years ago. I've traveled to over 50 countries on six continents, studying and working in the realm of international affairs and natural resource management at various international organizations. I enjoy creating video documentaries, attending photo exhibitions, swimming, canoe camping, and eating Southeast Asian food. It has been an awesome experience being a part of the College of the Environment's (CoEnv) Student Advisory Council. Creating and launching Ecodispatch with my fellow comrades has been a true highlight for me at UW. The chance to meet students from different CoEnv departments and discuss important environmental topics has increased my understanding of other's perspectives and knowledge about current events. I've very much enjoyed bringing folks together, having an open-dialogue conversation with other aspiring environmental scientists and digging deep into an issue.

About Me:

I'm a senior undergraduate studying Earth & Space Sciences and Environmental Studies. I was born in Kuala Lumpur before moving to Singapore when I was 6 months old. That's where I was raised and I've lived there for 14 years. I've also lived in Yokohama, Japan, and in Seattle, Washington for three and a half years each. Completing a double degree with honors keeps me rather busy, but when I'm not studying I'm watching or playing basketball or volleyball, or trying to catch a sunset somewhere in Seattle. Being on the Student Advisory Committee and being involved in the creation of Ecodispatch has been a wonderful and eye-opening project because I was able to work with students and individuals from all over the College of the Environment. I strongly believe that these groups of people will be future leaders and influential people in moving our society forward and it all starts with having a discussion with one another! I hope you enjoy it and Go Dawgs!

I'm a sophomore from Honolulu, Hawaii studying Marine Biology. I love spending time outside in the water and enjoy exploring nature through hiking.

I have served on the Student Advisory Council for the past two years and have enjoyed the opportunity of meeting and working with other undergraduate and graduate student leaders from across the college. I am really excited for the launch of Ecodispatch and hope others will have fun meeting and learning more from others who are passionate about the environment.
